TORREY PINES BANK ANNOUNCES KEY NEW HIRES FOR BAY AREA AND LOS ANGELES BRANCHES
Grant from FHLB and Torrey Pines Bank will be used to train at-risk youth in green, sustainable trade of solar panel installation

San Diego, February 16, 2011 - Torrey Pines Bank, a leading commercial bank in California with offices throughout San Diego County, Los Angeles and The Bay Area and an affiliate of Western Alliance Bancorporation, today announced the hiring of several key hires who will help to further its commitment to providing personal attention and commercial banking expertise in its Bay Area and Los Angeles offices.

- In Los Angeles, Ann Yasuda joins the office as relationship manager, and Bill Paredes is the new executive vice president of the Commercial Banking Group.
- In Los Altos, Al Diaz will serve as office manager, with Sergio Pena joining the team as the new loan officer handling construction loan administration, and Noel Gay as the new business development officer.
- In Oakland, Norma Jean Rogers joins as cash management sales officer for Northern California; Marianne Matney will be the new personal banker, and Fred Williamson Jr. will serve as business development officer.
Los Angeles Office
Ann Yasuda joins Torrey Pines Bank’s Los Angeles branch as its newest relationship manager. She draws on more than 25 years of commercial and private banking experience, including corporate, middle-market and specialized industries as well as investment equity expertise. She has worked with other leading institutions in the Los Angeles area. Yasuda is a graduate of the University of Southern California (B.S. in Finance) and the University of Washington’s Pacific Coast Banking School.
Bill Paredes is the new executive vice president of Torrey Pines Bank’s Commercial Banking Group. He draws on 25 years of experience in banking, financial planning and stock brokerage. Most recently he held the position of executive vice president, regional president at Bank of Nevada. Before that, he held the same title at Nevada First Bank, which later merged with Bank of Nevada. The founders of Nevada First Bank recruited Paredes from a major national financial institution to build the lending team. As chief lending officer for Nevada First Bank, Paredes and his team achieved the $100, $250 and $500 million asset milestones ahead of schedule with solid earnings and excellent credit quality. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and an MBA from the University of North Texas.
Los Altos Office
Sergio Pena is the new loan officer at the Los Altos office, handling construction loan administration. He developed his banking skills with organizations including Home Fed Bank, Comerica Bank, Heritage Bank of Commerce and Greater Bay Bank / Wells Fargo. Pena is a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a member of the board of directors for West Valley Light Opera, a non-profit theater company based in Saratoga.
Al Diaz is the new office manager for Torrey Pines Bank’s Los Altos office. Born and raised on the San Francisco peninsula, Diaz graduated from Menlo College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Diaz brings over 27 years of experience in local real estate and construction lending and relationship banking to his new role at Torrey Pines Bank.
Noel Gay is the new business development officer at the Los Altos office. Gay has over 30 years experience in banking specializing in Commercial and Industrial credit, equipment and aircraft financing, as well as commercial real estate. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University.
Oakland Office
Norma Jean Rogers joins Torrey Pines Bank as its cash management sales officer for Northern California, and is based in its Oakland office. She has over 35 years of banking experience and has taught on the subject in the San Francisco Community College District. Prior to joining Torrey Pines Bank, Rogers managed electronic banking and was the operations administrator for another Bay Area bank for 17 years.
Marianne Matney is the new personal banker at the Oakland office. Previously, she worked at Summit Bank of Oakland for eleven years. Matney has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Marketing from the Republic of the Philippines, and a degree in Accounting from U.C. Berkeley Extension, San Francisco.
Fred Williamson Jr. is the new business development officer at the Oakland office. A San Francisco native, he possesses nearly 20 years of retail and commercial banking experience with particular expertise in the areas of commercial lending, branch management and community development. Subsequent to attending the United States Air Force Academy where he studied business management, Williamson served as an aviator and linguist with the Intelligence & Security Command. He speaks four languages.
